The idea of creating a prosthesis for a tree is a silly and humorous concept. The prostretic is a prosthesis for a tree. An empathetic display of emotion towards the tree, my attempt to humanize the woods this way is purely cosmetic. Using only stumps on trees where branches previously existed but have naturally fallen or been prone to disease, I imagine what the original limb(s) could have looked like. I then recreate a prostretic for the chosen timber that becomes a permanent site-specific installation.
