Barrens
In Barrens, I have chosen specific outdoor locations to recreate as drawings that manifest as binary landscapes. These works are titled by their actual location using latitude and longitude on a geographic coordinate system. The simulated panoramas solely illustrate enigmatic icons sharing the vista with trees and vines. Unlike their site-specific counterparts, these representations allow the viewer an alternative fabrication of the actual location. Like badlands, the Barrens are stark and ghostly environments waiting to be populated.
