Reveries explore the various interactions humans engage in with trees and vines. Exclusively concentrating on these three organisms, their contact in the woods is the focus in this work. Planting seeds, gathering branches, pruning vines, or simply touching trees and vines, these simple forms of contact become fetishized in these images. The forest and the characters are attracted to one another to share an oddly intimate and unclear union. In these drawings, made entirely of wood, the background, foreground and characters all melt together to create a volatile experience. These experiences, like dreams, materialize as fantastic abstractions hence the title Reveries.
